THE ARTIST

Meet Sandra

An artist working with glass at the scale of a coin, collaborating with light.

The journey that brought me to where I am now has been full of laughter and tears, but it has led me to a place where I can share these portals with the world. They have brought me so much joy in the creating and so much wonder in the exploring, and I am so excited to share them with you.

As a little girl, I loved art with everything in me, but it just never got the chance to bloom. That is why I carry my maiden name in my artist name, Sandra Robinson Wessman. Every piece I make honors that little girl and the part of the journey that was hers.

My eye for art started with clouds. Lying back and finding pictures in them — I think everybody has done that. It is different for everybody, but everyone is capable of seeing something. If you have ever found a picture in a cloud, you will look at these portals, and they will speak to you every time.

My passion for painting became an obsession, and the costs kept growing as I tried to keep up, so I explored the world of miniatures, which led me to paint on nickel-sized glass stones, and somewhere in that smallness, I found a passion I never knew I had. I work in collaboration with light. When you hold one up to the light, it comes alive. And the beautiful thing is that everyone sees something different; there is no wrong way to see it.

Welcome to my little corner of the world that I am now ready to share.
